My friends powerbass has all of a sudden started melting/burning up the RCAs connected from it to the headunit in the car. In my other thread ppl said it was likely the amp not being grounded correctly and others said it was the ground trace on the amp. To my knowledge the amp correctly grounded to the car's chassis because we hooked it up two months ago with Knu 1/0 wire and he has been bumping his two L7s nice and hard at 4 ohms for the past two months with no problems until now. I pulled the amp out and stripped it so you guys could have a look at the inside. He is willing to get it repaired assuming the repair cost is not ridiculous.
I can hook my ipod directly up to the amp and the amp works fine and bumps just as hard as it did before. Strange phenomenon but the RCAs are obiously not melting because they can not ground through the ipod.
Let me know if you want any specific pics......
Thanks,
Kevin
