Paypal Allows you to LEGALLY scam people!!!!

i dont exactly understand why you would owe paypal the money.

you sell stuff, a person pays for it with their money.

you get the money. they do a reversal.

they get their own money back.

Where they hell does paypal get off trying to take money that in no way shape or form actually belong to them?

id love to see something like this hold up in court. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Thats why you don't give them your SSN to verify your account and when you receive payment you take it out of you paypal account immediately unless you are going to buy something in the next 1-2 days. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

They can't get any money from you unless it's in your paypal account, so even though the person does a charge back there is nothing to get. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

That is also why when you use paypal that you use a credit card, so if you do get screwed and paypal doesn't give you your money back you just call the cc company and get it back that way. I've had to do this once already, they suspended that account saying I owed them $225 for getting MY MONEY back. I told them to **** off and I opened another account with a different name and banking info. Once your account gets suspended you can't use any cc or bank accounts listed on that account with another one.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif

yea but once it goes to collections your S.O.L. and I think you have to enter your S.S. to register with paypal dont you?

but yea, it really is amazing how they can let this happen. But again, I guess its all in the contract...which apparently isnt to solid.

EDIT: yes it was a C.C.

so wat do use if u dont use paypal? money order is jus as bad lol
why is money order just as bad? Money order is a check from the Bank itself, not a personal check...Once its written it cant be canceled.. I looked into that when I recently got a check for the car I just sold. The guy didnt like something about the car and threatened to cancel the check. I called my bank and asked them if he could do that, and they said no because its THEIR check, not his.

I am just going to do cash on delivery from now on.

well i mean u can send them a money order and they have ur money..then they dont send u ur item..cuz usually they will want money b4 the ship anyways
But paypal offers no protection for the buyer. How can the buyer protect themselves?

Maybe set up something through e-bay or something may be a little better...really unsure.

Don't need your SSN to register, unless its required now. But, then they should ask everyone to submit it even if you have been a paypal user before they required it.

Edit: I'm confused, did you buy something or pay for something? Cause if you sold something and have proof that they received it via DC or tracking number paypal sides with the buyer 90% of the time.

I lost $1200 through paypal. They said they did everything to help me. BS. I filed a report within 12 hours of sending the money and it took them 3 weeks to favor me. If they had acted when I made the report I would have gotten my 1200 back. Instead they waited and let the guy withdraw the money. They shouldn't allow people with claims against them withdraw ANY money.
