Passive radiator ?

Ok, so I am curious how they work, as in how you incorporate them in your box. I understand they act as a port in a sense, but how do you know how big to make the box with them, etc?

Was thinking of running a Boston Acoustic SPG555 with one, like this...

Good question I have NEVER heard of anyone even using them. Why are they out if nobody uses them. what a waste of use

that one is tunable so you can adjust it for your box for the best sound

Yea I seen that, BUT do I build the box the same size as a sealed box and add this to it or what?

I think you need basically a free air sub for this to work properly

From what I know, you can use a passive radiator with any sub that can be ported. I will read more into it, I just dont remember how you figure out the box. I know it dramatically saves you space when you add one, because it acts as a port, but the box can be smaller. This one is meant to be used with the SPG555...

Maybe the Boston website will give more insight on these...i may be intrested in trying one myself in my new F150

The PDF taught me a lot. You can put the SPG555 in a box that is 1 cube' date=' with the passive radiator on the back side and it will give more output like a ported box, but remain a clean sound, with no port noise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
