Anybody have parents like that about car audio? Ok well first off im 16 and i been searching for a system for 2 and a half years now and finally decided on two kicker l7's and some boston acoustics pro 6.5 comps...h/u undecided. I have my whole system planned out and everything and the money i have been saving for about 6 months now...About 2,200, rember im a kid hard to get money. But yea back to the whole parents thing after all this my parents decide its a waste of money and its stupid. And that its just going to be something else for someone to steal or something for people to bit

My dad had me install an Alpine deck and Boston coaxials in his truck a few years ago. My mom doesn't understand it, but she enjoys when I'm home, because my HT system travels with me, heh. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

To your situation - if I had a '72 Chevelle, I'm not sure I'd want a very big system in it either. Maybe a low-profile deck like a Nakamichi, a small amp and coaxials. Isn't the point of a car like that to listen to the engine? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Im not sure how ur parents are but i know when i was sixteen if i wanted something but my parents didnt want to understand. I would just come at them in an organized and informative manner and kinda force it on them. Generally they were so impressed that i sat down and thought it out that they would just say yes. So try shwoing yoour parents some pictures of systems like what you are trying to do and just explain it to them. And if that doesnt work just kick the shit out of them

just so you know im 16 as well.

wow $2,200 for a starter's system? My first system cost me 300 bucks and I was satisfied for a while.

If you want to keep a stock look, just get some really really nice coaxials and fit them in the stock locations. Coaxials can sound good, im still running coaxes in my car.

Your L7's will be in the trunk so they wont attract attention unless you blast them everywhere. Good subs BTW

And do yourself a favor and install the HU in the dash, where its supposed to be. it would be a ***** having to open the glove compartment every time u want to change the track.

You can get a really kick-*** system for around $1000, I wouldnt advise spending so much money on your first system, especially when you have little experience.

lol we both went in on it cars in my name........yea ill try that kicking the shit out of them part....... yea i mean i agree the thing is the sickest sounding thing i have ever heard but driving aroud in a car with out a system for so long is kinda like playing a video game eventually you wanna have a little extra somethin so you put some cheats in : - )

yea theres know way im messing up the car over the system i mean i just wanna be able to have something nice in there to match the car.....My dad is convinced on some cc subs and some 6x9's.....

Yea cjackson i figured someone would have to say somethin like that as if they know me and my situation.....
