Para Punch Bass Booster?

Hi,

So I am confused on how the bass booster completely works.

It says it will put out up to 18db bass boost at 35-70hz. How does it determine how much "db" it is putting out if it cannot determine what type of subwoofer the amplifier is hooked up too?

And when it says 35-70hz, will it bass boost every note from 35-70 hz? Or only the 1 frequency you have the knob set to?

If someone could please just explain the whole concept of the bass boost knob that would be awesome!!

It ups the signal coming into the amp. Normally causing the amp to clip and make everything sound like crap before it dies. You don't want to mess around with boost. You only have so much power, adding a boost can not make it louder than that.

Does it only boost signal at 35-70hz? Or is it a boosted signal at only 1 frequency (ex. 57hz)
only one freq where the dial is set...so depending how your sub box is tuned it will help ...or possibly give you low end boost in areas where your frequency response dips...youd really need an rta to set it properly to give you a smooth response just like setting an equalizer

the entire range but when u set the amp u have to set the amp with the boost all the way up otherwise u will burn your coils and blow the sub. personally i dont care for bass knobs. u can usually adjust the sub level in the headunit. making a bass knob pretty much obsolete

i need to see a pic....ive never seen anything that boosted an entire range from 30-70hz...but you should be able to dial in a freq betweent that point...so the whole range can be boosted but only one freq at a time so you set the boost at say 50hz...thats the freq that will be boosted...though the surrounding freqs due to the slope will be boosted as well but not as much...think about a rainbow...the selected freq is the peak/top...the others are falling off on both sides.....

^ Word, pretty simply explained there.

And as said above, you really need an RTA to use it properly. Otherwise you may be boosting a frequency that doesn't need boosting, and killing your equipment with clipping. And 18db is a lot of boost.

yea my bad its basically a single band parametric eq. what ever frequency u set it to will be boost while the surrounding frequencies will also be boosted but at a lower rate the further away from the set point they are

Rockford Fosgate Remote Bass EQ PPB1 | eBay I am confused on how the slope works as well I made a thread. It has a 12db or 24db slope.
I looked at the link...the 0-18 at 45hz is a misprint...well it can but at any choosen freq in between 35-70 not just 45hz and like I said none of those should need anymore than 6dbs of boost ...and it would most likely take an rta to figure out which one....

Sorry I should have been more clear about the 0-18db adjustment not just 18db. If I am currently running this in a ported box, the bass boost should be on a higher frequency, or am I wrong? About how much extra wattage would "6db" be putting out?
