lower ohm = lower resistance = higher spl = possibly lower SQ = possibly lower durability over the years.

well the only thing for all those different vcs is for wiring formations. neither one will help in spl or sq. they just help u get different ohm loads.

nope...

wiring options are

dvc 4ohm = 2ohm or 8 ohm

dvc 2ohm = 1ohm or 4 ohm

ohms are just a measure of resistance..... one thing i dont think most people know is that its harder for noise to get into a system with lower ohm loads..... in any case less ohms means more current

if the amp is capable of putting out more power in a lower ohm load. it also needs to be stable at that ohm. some amps r 1ohm stable while some are 2ohm stable and while some r only 4 ohm stable (bridged mode on a 2 channel amp)

I personally feel either a DVC or an SVC must be stronger. ONe must be stronger than the other in durability. I'm not sure which, it's just a gut feeling. I guess I'd have to waiste money and run tests to try and prove this though.

I promise that they are exactly the same as far as durability is concerned.

The only real advantage of DVC over SVC is flexibility of wiring configuration. That's the only reason they install multiple voice coils on a driver to begin with. It saves the company money. Rather than making one woofer with a 2 ohm coil, one with a 4 ohm coil, one with a 1 ohm coil and one with an 8 ohm coil, they can just make two with DVC 2's and 4's to cover all those configurations.....get it?

yes he is correct.....the only difference beteween svc and dvc is the voice coil impedance....thats it, no durability difference no sound difference....nothing.....merely for wiring configurations
