lower ohm = lower resistance = higher spl = possibly lower SQ = possibly lower durability over the years.for u guru guys out their what is the difference in a 2 ohm voice coil and 4 ohm voice coil (SVC & DVC) with respect to SQ , SPL , overall performance & Durability.
if the amp is capable of putting out more power in a lower ohm load. it also needs to be stable at that ohm. some amps r 1ohm stable while some are 2ohm stable and while some r only 4 ohm stable (bridged mode on a 2 channel amp)in any case less ohms means more current
I promise that they are exactly the same as far as durability is concerned.I personally feel either a DVC or an SVC must be stronger. ONe must be stronger than the other in durability. I'm not sure which, it's just a gut feeling. I guess I'd have to waiste money and run tests to try and prove this though.
