So I bought this PAC line out converter on amazon (LINK) to use until the dash kit for my camaro comes back in stock and I can swap out the deck.
The issue I'm having is in the remote turn on circuit, it's supposed to sense the voltage on the speaker inputs and generate a remote turn on signal for my amp. I had it powering both the remote in on my amp as well as a battery isolator.
It seemed to turn on just fine the first time but then after that will not work. I'll note that I could smell a faint burning smell but nothing anywhere was getting hot or visibly being damaged, that I could tell. I wired up a relay to take the load of the LOC but it still won't fire the relay. The weird thing is, if I disconnect the REM coming out of the LOC it turns on, like it can turn on but can't supply any current, so I'm wondering if I burned up the remote circuit trying to fire the battery isolator solenoid.
I have it jumped out now using a toggle switch to turn em on but just wondering if anyone has any experience with this LOC and any tips.
Kind of sounds like this guy was having the same issue...
