Hello everyone,
I need some help figuring out what fried. A positive speaker lead from one of the amps grounded for a second. After the incident, the head unit developed a horrific engine whine and all the speakers now pop when the head unit is powered off or the volume is turned to zero. Even with the engine off there is still an audible feedback noise present. (Other than these noise problems, the P880PRS still works prefect.) I swapped it with a different pioneer head unit and the whine/noise stopped, so it's gotta be something in the 880PRS.
Any thoughts on what fried? I suppose maybe something burnt in the preamp outputs thus causing the nasty engine whine. I'm hoping to get a few ideas from the users here so if I decide to take it to a local pioneer service center, I'll at least have some idea as to what needs to be repaired.
Thanks in advance.
