Overrated Amps

I've heard Hifonics overrate their amps from some of you on here. I believe it's true but i'd like to know by how much. Anyone have proof of this?

Yes there has been a few bench tests over on termpro, and there is one lingering around somewhere who had it tested by kb audio.

930ish at 14.4 or 13.8 at 1 ohm for the 1500

I would like to know how last yrs orions rank, because I was not impressed by them at all. The 600d seemed more than a brutus 1000 but going from the 600d orion to a 1200d orion didnt really seem like a diffrence then adding another orion 1200d still didnt seem like it made a big diffrence.

Depends on the system you were using. Stacking on more power is one of the least efficient ways to gain output. You could have been getting into power/Bl compression. Etc etc.

Not saying that's the definite answer. But one of the possible reasons more power didn't seem to make as big of a difference as it "should" have.

Ha yea it is.

Overall though, they are great bang for the buck amps.

Roughly 1000w at 14.4v for cheap.

Just dont expect the full 1500 out of them.
