Overheating Problems

I am having a problem w/ my amp overheating. It's gotten to the point that it's nearly untouchable due to the heat after driving for a while. Now, it's been in the 80's to mid 90's up here in michigan, so that may have something to do with it, but i doubt it. (since there are states much more hot). I was thinking that that my 8 guage cable wasn't heavy enough? maybe i should go to 4 guage? Also, the amp is 400w...and is in my car's trunk, so ventilation isn't the greatest...any help as to what to do about this overheating will be appreciated. Thanx

How many ohms are you running it at, and what amp.

You don't need to change wire. Your board might be going bad. What subs are you using?

Yeah, me too...gains, how much up are they. I'm convinced that your amp is just going bad or you need a fan.

my gains are set about....a quarter of the way up...like, in the 9 o'clock position...possibly a lil more, but hardly
