output voltage too low!!!

i recently installed a set of Crystal SSCS6 components running off of a Diamond D3400.4 amp, and 2 RLI8's in a ported box running off of an Arc KAR900.1. They are running off of the Premium Radio(which has RCA preouts) in a Scion XB.

In setting the gain, I downloaded the test tones from ROE, and tried to measure the output voltage using my DMM(and a friend's as well) at 3/4 volume. IT WAS REALLY LOW. Setting the gain 3/4 of the way, I was only able to get ~10V. To my RLI-8s at 2 ohms, I'm looking for ~37.41V. I even tried turning up the subwoofer level on the HU, but that didnt work either.

What should I do? I feel like the RLI8's aren't getting enough power.

Try the gain all the way up, and slowly turn up the volume. If that's still not enough then look into a linedriver as mentioned.

How you like the Crystals? I put a set in the GF's car last summer and she's very happy with them.

I think maybe you should just sell the Rl-i8's. I'll go ahead and take those pesky things off your hands.

Sorry not a more usefull post, but it will solve your problem of low output, it'll be no out put for you but plenty for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What volume level were you testing these at ?
What is the output voltage of the source unit ? You can test this with the DMM and a test tone.
I tested it at 48/63, using the ROE test tones. I got ~10V at 3/4 gain.

I'm gonna check the filters and crossover settings tomorrow, but the person who set them is real good with audio; I don't believe he set them wrong.

Perhaps I need a line driver?

I very seriously doubt that you need a line driver. It also doens't matter that your friend is knowledgable about audio, if the tones that you used were not compatible with what he set the other things to. If he set them without listening to the system then they're probably set wrong.
