Output and SQ questions

Since I doubt that the OP has horns installed and it is possible to turn horns down anyway who gives a rip if the subs can't keep up with a set of horns. Horns are the anomoly, far from commonplace anyway.
For SQ focus on the front stage. Since you are happy for now with how it's set up fill in the bottom end. In all honesty if the front stage is doing its job pretty much any sub will be up to the task. It doesn't have to be some mythical SQ sub just properly enclose it and give it an amp. The amp doesn't even need to be all that powerful.

there you go... subs can't keep up with 4 id xs69's with over a thousand watts going to the mids. horns aren't the issue.

Four 12's and you want SQ? Thats not going to work. You want your bass to blend seamlessly with soundstage. Think of it as having a nice set of Bose headphones. The bass is there, its significant, but blends perfectly and sounds good. Thats what your going to need to do. Four 12's will just make it loud.

No. If carefully thought out and executed, ported box will sound incredible.
times eleventy million!

my ported sub/box sounds unlike any other ported sub i have ever heard. i had no idea ported could sound so good till i made what i currently run.

With all do respect, The car with the baddest set of HLCD's on the planet have 2 15's for subs. They keep up just fine. Maybe you should work on your tune? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Wow you guys trashed this guys thread. Who cares about your horns. No one, so help out the op. What he really wants is some clean bass. Not just any subwoofer can produce this clean bass. He also wants it to get satisfyingly loud, but still sound clean. Why cant yall help him out?

I understand what he is saying, but I have also been talking to this guy in pm's and I know what he wants. He doesn't have the money to support the front stage, but wants a good a good clean substage. Helotaxi is correct with the sq factor, but this is not exactly what he wants. Now you guys now know what he really wants.
