Outdoor Speakers

Hey Guys,

The rents just had a patio put in in their backyard and are looking for a couple speakers to stick out there. They obviously aren't planning on getting a noise complaint, and they would typically be run at relatively low volumes. We're looking to keep the price down as low as possible, but don't want crappy tinny speakers. I came across these guys

and they seemed alright so I searched some more and apparantly they are made by a company that is owned by Speakercraft, and speakercraft makes an outdoor speaker that looks identical to it. Most of the speakers under 200 I've come across so far typically have 4.5in midranges, and I just cannot fathom how that could produce any sort of bass response in a room, let alone in 3/4acre backyard. If you guys have any feedback on the speakers I listed or any recommendations I'm all ears. Thanks.

By the way, they'll be powered by an older HK receiver, thing probably easily puts out 75 per channel into 8ohms.

There are a lot of companies that make some decent outdoor speakers.

Stereo Stone might be one to look into...

We have these out by the pool on an old JVC receiver and they sound good enough and get plenty loud. Probably not the best, but they were definitely worth the money.
