OT: Your procedure before taking your car to the shop?

I've heard a few stories where people's equipment has gotten messed up at shops (not just auto) from some moron cranking it up. On top of that, I just don't want anyone looking at my gear. Whenever I take mine in for checkups, etc, I always lock the trunk from the lock by the driver's seat. It can't be opened without my key. Then, I take the radio fuse out of my fuse panel. I doubt they'd think to check my fuse box. Even if they do, the monitor is disconnect from the brain before I get out, too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I don't want anyone messing with my stuff.

I actually take my faceplate, pull my sub box, take my amp(s) out. I HARDLY take the car to the shop though. The last time I took it I did pull the faceplate, sub/box, and my amps out and left it at home.

Pop off the faceplate. They can't crank it if theres no knob! Otherwise thats is....not much else ya can do.
Haha...I forgot about removable faceplates. Up until last week I didn't have a headunit with one, so I always disconnected the monitor from the brain.

I have a removable faceplate now....woo!

I guess if you have a double din or flip out that would not help though.. Radio fuse would probably be the next best bet.
Yeah, or pop the distro block fuses...I use those huge fuses, I forget what they are called....maxi-fuses? Sure a shop may have em, but will they go thru all the trouble of finding the fuse block and popping in new fuses just to bump? Probably not.....

I would also take a picture for the record, it may or may not help if one of the workers steals something or if an intruder steals something. But it can be used as extra evidence. Who knows it may help.

i just do my own auto work....
You're such a man. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My friend usually does small stuff for me, but when I take mine in on warranty issues, there's no reason for me to even attempt to fix it myself (even if I could).

Pop off the faceplate here..

One time I got my oil changed and was sitting in the waiting room. I forgot to pop my faceplate off. I then heard someone bumping. I looked out at the road and realized the bass was coming from one spot. I then realized it was my truck! The porch monkey had turned my volume up while changing my oil. It was a .mp3 cd and "I hate ni*gers was on it". I had my cd player set to random and I was hoping it would go to that song.
