Oh, so now you're going to tell me what games I've watched and didn't watch?? I never said he isn't a great college quarterback. I'm just saying that he won't make a very good pro quarterback. Vick makes things happen but when defenses make him throw the ball whether its in the pocket or rolling out bad things tend to happen. Carolina figured him out this past Sunday and Carolina won the game. they made him throw the ball and he got picked.Once again, BS on seeing "enough" of the games. You've seen the Ohio State game (watch the winning TD pass to Limas Sweed again) and the Texas A&M game, a game where Vince had by FAR his worst game of the year. Every other game on ABC was NOT shown in the midwest. My parents live in northern IL and have been disappointed by how few games they were able to see.
Yep, tons of great QB's have poor mechanics. Bernie Kosar threw sidearm and had a great career. Everyone said Dan Marino threw too quickly and didn't set his feet enough, he did OK for himself. Whereas a lot of QB's with prototypical mechanics had terrible careers. Wuerffel, Weinke, Toretta, Couch, McNown, etc. Mechanics aren't nearly as important as reading and recognizing coverages, finding soft spots in the secondary, feeling pressure, knowing when to leave the pocket, being able to lead the receiver, escaping blitzers, avoiding sacks, etc etc etc.
And as far as Mike Vick, this is really only his 3rd season of starting. Of course he's got a lot of work to do, as do tons of QB's early in their career. He came in as a really inaccurate thrower who could only throw the deep ball, and he's gotten much better, while having to switch offenses halfway through his short career. I don't think I have to run down the list of great, often Hall of Fame caliber QB's, who didn't hit their stride until their 5th or 6th year. I think Adam is just incredibly biased against QB's that can run for whatever reason.
Not true! Mike Vick to a horrific franchise, and put ***** in seats- that alone means he in neither overpriced, overpaid, nor overhyped. Will he ever be one of the best? I doubt it, but he sells merchandise and tickets and to the owners that's whan matters- I even think to a lot of these franchises winning is secondary except that you often require winning to fill stadiums- Mike Vick fills a stadium even when they ****. He is worth every penny they are paying him, but for that reason- he will be a weekly ad on Sportscenter doing his human video game thing, unfortuneatly he will likely have a short career as someone his size will be plauged by injury running the ball as much as he does- look how short running back's careers are.So I think he is overpriced, overpaid, overhyped=another big bust.
Ohiostate is going to win the fiesta bowl as well to the other guys posting, lol!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
