But I bet they step it up in the Rose Bowl. I'm going to say my beloved Horns win by 3 in one of the great games in college football history. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifUSC defense is not so great this year man, and I think tex wins by 17
I've seen enough of their games to know he has NO touch what so ever. They're nationally broadcasted just about every other week since they were ranked so high and its a big attraction. That weird throwing motion motion is a person trying to aim the ball because he has NO natural throwing motion. Its happened to alot of college QBs .....they dominate in the NCAA because they can run and when they get to the pro level where they can't just run every play they get smeared and then try to throw and get picked a bunch of times. Case in point, Michael Vick. When a defense forces him to throw the ball bad things happen for the Falcons. Can't see Young even being in the same ballpark as Vick either.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gifAnother person who hasn't seen many Texas games this year...I know people up north haven't as my parents have tried to watch them, and only got to see about three.
He's certainly not perfect, but he's been throwing VERY well this year. Just has a weird *** throwing motion.
As far as being a pro prospect, there was an article on si.com where one NFL GM was quoted as saying Vince would be a top 5 pick if he came out. I think if he waits another year, he could very well be the #1 pick.
if he has no touch why does he lead the nation in passing eff? mechanics in being a qb are over rated. brett favre has "bad" mechanics and i never would call him bad. hell people said that doug flutie was too short had bad mechanics and a whole shlewwwwwww of other things...i believe he has proven his worth between the cfl and nfl. you just dont know until it happens
Yep, tons of great QB's have poor mechanics. Bernie Kosar threw sidearm and had a great career. Everyone said Dan Marino threw too quickly and didn't set his feet enough, he did OK for himself. Whereas a lot of QB's with prototypical mechanics had terrible careers. Wuerffel, Weinke, Toretta, Couch, McNown, etc. Mechanics aren't nearly as important as reading and recognizing coverages, finding soft spots in the secondary, feeling pressure, knowing when to leave the pocket, being able to lead the receiver, escaping blitzers, avoiding sacks, etc etc etc.if he has no touch why does he lead the nation in passing eff? mechanics in being a qb are over rated. brett favre has "bad" mechanics and i never would call him bad. hell people said that doug flutie was too short had bad mechanics and a whole shlewwwwwww of other things...i believe he has proven his worth between the cfl and nfl. you just dont know until it happens
Right on. Just leave Adam out of it...he obviously knows more than pro scouts. And since the Longhorn games were only broadcast REGIONALLY, I know he couldn't have seen more than about 4-5 games at most.Yep, tons of great QB's have poor mechanics. And as far as Mike Vick, this is really only his 3rd season of starting. Of course he's got a lot of work to do, as do tons of QB's early in their career. He came in as a really inaccurate thrower who could only throw the deep ball, and he's gotten much better, while having to switch offenses halfway through his short career. I don't think I have to run down the list of great, often Hall of Fame caliber QB's, who didn't hit their stride until their 5th or 6th year. I think Adam is just incredibly biased against QB's that can run for whatever reason.
Once again, BS on seeing "enough" of the games. You've seen the Ohio State game (watch the winning TD pass to Limas Sweed again) and the Texas A&M game, a game where Vince had by FAR his worst game of the year. Every other game on ABC was NOT shown in the midwest. My parents live in northern IL and have been disappointed by how few games they were able to see.I've seen enough of their games to know he has NO touch what so ever. Contracts!yeah, ND got paid for being more popular. Congrats. It's not like Oregon needs the money anyway with Phil Knight in thier pocket (you know, that owner of Nike!) so run your smack, but scoreboard says it all over your myopic matchup rankings- Oregon has 1 loss, ND has 2. Last I checked 2 is more than 1. My major gripe with the BCS is automatic bids for conference champions. Can anyone honestly say FSU is better than Oregon? I don't think so.
