In recent news Notre got into the Fiesta Bowl beating out an opponent ranked above them?

Well you may ask yourselves why would this happen why would a team that is technically worse then another team get into a bowl?

The answer has two answers:

1 is that they are Notre Dame. They are the worlds favorite football team and they would bring the most crowd in on the Television. This meening that a company would make the most money off of them. No one cares about oregon so no one would watch them.

2 Strength of schedule - Now everyone can say what they want about Notre Dame but look at their schedule every year. Pre-Season they had the toughest. You cant plan on the teams they play being a bad team. They play teams like, Purdue - a big ten team, Michigan - another big ten, TENN - Another should of been top teamer, Michigan State - not so hot but did beat them this year, USC best team in the nation - got screwed out of a win, by a cheap push by reggie bush. They have the hardest strength of schedule going into the season, but after the season it was weak.

ORegon played USC and lost badly, besides them their next toughest opponent was Fresno State - JOKE, and CAL - Joke

This is why ND got it a nd it makes me laught to hear Oregon fans bitc`h haha

You live in a dream world. Wake up and STFU. ND has a year like this every time they get a new coach and then they go back to the same old ND that gets either a shit bowl or NO bowl at all. Where as teams like Michigan and Ohio State go to a bowl EVERY year.

Its funny people get so mad at notre ****, i meen they are an awesome team and with their new coach they are going big, he had the number one recruiting class in the nation this year

Interesting...check this link out:

Top 100 Recruits in the nation. Notre Dame has 4. Texas has 7.

ND has a very good class going, but by no means do they have the #1 at this point...hell, it's not decided until February anyways, when they officially sign.

Analyzing a school's recruiting class before any of the kids play is retarded anyways, so many of the "top" recruits never pan out. Ohio State consistently gets some of the top-rated QB's in the nation (Hoying, Bellisarri, Zwick, etc.), and the ones that have had success were nowhere near the top (Krenzel, Smith). The same goes for running backs across the board, every year there's a slew of kids that put up 2000+ yards and 40+ TD's in high school, and never see much gametime because they aren't built physically for the next level.

Basically, my point is fu*k Notre Dame. Not because of the players or coach or anything, but the university administration, they make me sick to my stomach.

Very true. I mean Texas has had one of the top recruiting classes for the last 10 years but their coaching staff couldnt get them prepared for major college football games until now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I live in SB and hate ND, but I got to give it the coach. I for one thought the current talent couldn't get better. It IS obvious what a change in coaching style will do. I am happy for the community as a whole as things have really picked up around this rather boring town.

Every Tuesday night they have a "coach's show" at one of the local places. Anyways, everytime ND would lose a game the last couple years, Willingham would not be present for the show. He was also very laid back at did not take critisism very well. Weiss, on the other hand, came in talking smack. He lit a fire under the team and the town and it's been pretty cool watching the whole thing evolve, especially when you get to see it firsthand.

I've been bored with them as of late. The old smash-mouth style is what I like and ND seems to be taking an aggressive apporach to every game. They still can't play a full 60 minutes, but they are fun to watch again, and like has been said before, they are ND, and they will always have an edge in the bowl selection because of the potential profits.

Both teams are coming into the bowl on a high and are a very good match-up, so the game should be rather entertaining.
