Orion Remote Gain Controller Problem

If neither worked, do you think you damaged the amp by using the wrong one? It would be nice if these things became standardized. Who even knows if the pinouts on the plug are the same...

I am an idiot. I contacted JL for info on repairing the remote port. They said to make sure the remote "switch" is in the on position on the amp. I turned it off thinking it was a bass boost switch.
