I'm sure spl does build some good stuff, not gonna question that. Why would anyone want to recone a sub?, probably because even the best subs burn up from over powering. I would imagine if spl built the best subs possible and rated them at 5000wrms at 50hz he would not warrenty them if ran at 5000wrs at 27hz, of course thats m.o., and of course thats just a generic figure.
I have been listening to music for over 25 yrs, does low freq tones actually have a quality sound and what would I compare them to for comparison so I could hear the quality diff between a orion vrs any other. The thing I have noticed that after so much power, sound quality is irrelevant. Most people "imo" having 2 or more 15-18" subwoofers is not out for superior sound quality, if so then why that big or that many, again "imo" I think it's about how bad you can shake things up. Am I totally wrong here.
Lets get back to the original post, and if anyone can show me some numbers, specs, prices, availability etc than I'm all ears, everything else is just gossip and your own opininion.
Here is something to chew on, an AA Mayhem is very simular to a Lanzar opti1533d but a lot more cohunas. I bet peeps from both sides would battle it out over which 1 was better.
Thanks for the imput. Russ
I will bet anything that you wont even need to have it reconed if you know what you are doing. SPL builds some stout subs.
On a side note if you are expecting to have to recone the sub before you even use it my suggestion is you dont get the sub. Just my .02. Are you planning on running this just as a spl truck because I have heard a friend with a hcca and clarity wise it *****. Yea it can move a lot of air but why have a sub that doesnt sound good?
