Orion 2500d @ .5 Ohm???

I haven't posted on here in awhile but heres my question im running my orion 2500d at .5 ohm and the problem im having is my subs cut off at higher volumes.Also when the subs shut off the red power light on the amp still stays lit,maybe the amp goes into some type of protection mode when the volts drop too low???I'm running two orion h2's dual 2ohm everything is wired in parallel so I think the wiring is right??

I'm running a 200 amp alt & red top battery and still the volts are dropping a lot this amp draws some current.

I'm open to any ideas or suggestions so let me know people...

check to see what your dropping to. also see what voltage your battery is sitting at @ idle, in Drive with the e brake on.

That amp pulls about 300 amps at 1 ohm so no telling what at half 400 450 ? you'll need something way bigger than a Batcap 800

Yeah its a toss up between kinetik and batcap ill figure out whichever one I get there both good brands.

How come? Ive been doing it for over 1 year and it seems good to me I just need to have my electrical system on point for it haha

ive heard mixed reactions about running that amp at .5......if its worked for you for the past year though keep at it lol....but yea def look into adding another battery...id look into the kinetik or even a powermaster

it has to be rising then. i remember there was a guy with a s-10 with 2 orion running below 1 ohm and he eventually wrecked both amps.

I ran my 2500 at .5 ohms on my orion 15.4 and had no problems. I have a few stinger batts, so I would say as long as you got the batts to back it up id keep running at .5 ohms

try to get these readings

1-voltage drop at full tilt (use lil jon or something with a steady bassline so the dmm can catch up and give you an accurate reading instead of jumping around)

2-voltage of battery @ idle/system off with car in drive (trying to replicate sitting at a stop light, and trying to make sure the alternator is providing the full ~14v in that situation)

theres like no protection on them 2500ds; you can run them at .5 but sounds like your connections are bad.
