orion 2500d @ .25 ohm?

anyone have any experience with this?

got 2 dual 1 ohm coil mt 15s, need more power than @ 1 ohm mono. i would just try it, but not sure how good the protect circuit is in this amp and dont want to blow it

For a burp you should be okay. For daily driving the 2500d wouldn't handle it well, if at all.

well, prob just burping.

why not daily, however? would it be a heat or current or both issue?

anyone ever burp one that low? thanks.

When I had mine, I ran 4 12"s to it at 1/4 ohm for a spl comp, it really drew some power, but as long as I didn't ramp up the volume to high or too fast the amp was fine for the burp. I also tried .5 ohm daily for a while, worked fine. (Although I dont know what my box rise ever was...)

sorry for the thread jack, but im runnin my 2500d at 4 ohms now...i know its very efficient at 4, but how much more current will it take at 1 ohm, and how much efficiency will i lose?

it will draw more more current wired at 1ohm depends on voltage and a reactive impendance load

maybe i shouldve clarified my question. i need to know about running an orion 2500d @ .25 ohm for burps, if anyone has any real world experience with that.

i run mine @ .5 ohm daily when i had 2 dvc 2 sxs, also.

I run my orion at .375ohms for burps, like mentioned earlier its louder than using my 2 orion 2500ds at .75ohm a piece. According to the fellas on Termpro the orion does its best burped at .35ohm nominal. I burped my orion last year @.25ohms to my old splw12 dual 1ohm subs with no problems

If you keep trying to tell that 2500D its a 20.1, its bound to burn

.25 daily, not gonna happen.

yes its haddles .25 for burps but you have to roll the volume up and it draws some serious current though.
