Orion 2500 went up into smoke today

thats not good what sub was it pushing thats odd since the hu was on but on 0:uhoh: could the amp be repaired

ugh he had volume on 52, that really sux, i had my 2500d rca's go bad, warranty covered it, orion is cool on their warranty's

Did no one else notice that he had the volume cranked full-bore? (52 out of 52?!?)

I would have to assume that the signal was overdriven to clipping...I'm surprised the amp went rather than the subs but no head unit I've ever dealt with outputs a clean signal at full volume...

Just my $0.02.

IIRC, Pioneer's go up to volume 62. Eclipse uses non-clipping preouts at full volume, except the subout. If you crank it up to max, 16. Then it clips @ volume 74/80. To get it to not clip on full volume. crank it to volume 11/16.

the way you listen to your music is bad for your speakers then. Prowler is right, your shitty headunit was clipping the hell out of your system. You should never have to crank the volume that high to get the levels you want.
