Ordered New System, What You Think?

Last night i ordered a 15" Sundown SA15-D4 and a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D. With a cheap, temporary, box it all cost around $450 shipped. Its going in a 05 Honda Accord coupe. I am currently running an old school 15" Rockford Punch Hx2 and a Rockford 800a2 amp. With the same cheap box i just ordered i hit 137.9 May 1st and a local comp. Just curious what you guys think and if you have any guesses as to how many db i might possibly gain.

you may not gain much if any. Don't think you'll even gain a whole db. Cone area remains the same, box remains the same and you're gaining maybe 200 watts from the new amp. Not much there to gain imho

Should have got dual2's so you could wire down to 1ohm now ur stuck with a 2ohm load and after rise you want have much power to wrk with.

^^^This. I am not sure why you got dual 4 ohm unless you plan on adding a second sub later.

And whoever said ditch the hifonics. The BRZ line is CEA compliant and a very nice amp.

If you want to add some db's, get a 2nd 15" SA, as others said and drop it down to 1ohm.

Also get a real ported box built, not a ****** prefab. Tune it higher for comps, lower for SQL/SQ. That'll make a much bigger difference than changing to another 15", your keeping the same cone area and running a little more power. Also running it in a box not designed for your sub at all will hurt your performance a bit

sorry guys, must of totally spaced starting this thread. yes, my intentions were to get a second sub when i got more money then wire them both down to 1 ohm. I did gain a couple decibles with this set up tho, 139.7 on term-lab. took out the sundown which sits in the house and got a RF T2D2. Also i like my brz1200s. Never give me any problems. Thinking about strapping 2 to power the t2. later
