Optimum box size for Alpine Type X 12"

i have this single sub and will be powering it with a cadence dca1600.1

i know it's suppose to be a sealed box application but i like the looks of a ported box. thinking of a ported box for this sub. anyone can recommend me a ported setup for a single 12" type x?

2.2~2.5@26~34 range is that good enough for great sq?

more leaning towards sq than spl.

thanks.

so at 2.0@28 and 2.2@28 basically i can't tell any difference right?

the 2.2 will have little bit extra of low compare to the 2.0 right?

i listen to rap, r&b, pop(very little), techno, dance, etc kind of music. these spec will do fine right?

thanks.

just the tiniest bit more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Type X's are high powered small sealed box subs... They're peaky in normal sized ported boxes, and once the box gets tuned low enough for them it basically acts like a sealed box with a boost on the low end.

most techno and dance have most of their bass in the 60-100hz range
the x will never hit that

they do love rap, tho, anything with DEEP bass
well, will it hit enough so at least i can hear it or not at all?

i love the bass from rap and that's why i want the box suitable for rap. only listen to techno/dance once in a while just to wake up from tired day after work. most of the time i love the bass from rap, mariah carey type of music.

sounds ok with that setup?

so this mean if i tuned the box to below 32 hz it will sound awesome right?

i'm thinking between 28~30 range.

I would put the Type-X sealed in 2-2.5 cubes. Very smooth and very low would be the outcome. I would never port them.

The butterworth alignment for them is like 5 cubes with an F3 of about 30hz... that's **** sexy.

that 2-2.5 cubes is before or after driver displacement?

wouldn't the 2-2.5 a little bit too big for a sealed box? or it's suitable for a type x before of the power handling the type x have?

thanks.
