So yesterday I was driving my car home from work and could barely hear any bass from my subwoofers... This has never really happened to me before unless a wire was loose or something like that. Well I figured that it was power loss... I am running a Brutus 1200w mono amplifier to two Zeus 12" Subs wired in parallel running at 2-ohms (900w RMS). So I have my stock battery and alternator. I don't really want to bother with a capacitor so I was wondering if the Optima Yellow Top would help my situation. I also don't believe that a HO Alternator is really needed because I am not running that much power and they are super expensive... 1200w isnt much at all, a good front battery and the big 3 will do just fine. Alternator is not need period on your case, but Im sure some idiot will say it.

Well I have an 01 honda civic and the lights don't really dim but my system sounds really weak after I put it in over a week ago. I used to run an 800w audiobahn amp with 2 350w 12" from it and it was much louder than this system... That's why I'm kind of looking for a solution...

u got everything setup rite.big 3 would help and i think those cars have a really small stock alt.

Sounds like your subs are wired out of phase. Double check the speaker wiring....

Well how I wired my subs is in parallel to 2-ohm. I have dual voice coil 2 ohm subs. This is the wiring diagram I used : http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=3 ( I used wiring option number two) The thing is instead of connecting to positives from each sub to each other, I connected them directly into the amp because I have four speaker outputs ( 2+ and 2 -). So I wired it like that. Did I do something wrong?

If there's a power loss your lights should be dimming.

Check your gain, that the amp isn't going into protect, and your equalization features. I've had that happen when the "Input sensitivity" button on my amp has been pushed.

So you have 2 sets of wires coming from the box. If you accidentally get one of those wires backwards, then the subs will be out of phase and canceling each other out. Its a common mistake, I would double check when you get the chance.
