opinions - PS3 vs. 360 for Sports games

My cousin just got a big 52" Sharp Aquos LCD, totally bad *** set...he's big into sports games, that's pretty much all he will play, he's just not sure which way to go...he already has a blu ray player, it actually was a throw in with the TV as some promotion from CC this past weekend. So that aspect really wont matter...suggestions?

Man i dont know about the 360 but my buddy has a 52" sharp aquos lcd D64u model number and he has a ps3 and it is awesome. All we play on it is ncaa fotball 09 and madden 09. The picture quality will blow you away! But ive always had a playstation and will always have one!

I'm a 360 guy myself, I love mine, but I mix it up. I play Madden and NBA 2k/Live, they are fine for me, but he's wanting best sports quality if such a thing exists...

Either one work's fine but if you get a Xbox be sure to get one with HDMI. The only real deciding factor is if he want's to play online. If he want's to play online against other's I'd suggest the PS3 since it's free to play online where as you have to pay to play online on the 360. I prefer my 360 over the PS3 solely because I like the 360's controller a little more.

I think "The Show" series is exclusive to PS3 IIRC. I prefer MLB The Show to any other MLB game.

For sports it's pretty much a tie, the only thing I have to say is I like the 360 controller a lot better.

If Xbox Live were free I would agree with you. It's not worth it to pay to get online to play against a bunch of kid's who cry, cuss non stop, pause the games, and quit when they are losing. Only good thing about Xbox charging for the service is that I can sale all the codes for the free 48 hour trials I get with the games lol.
