Opinions on purchasing a TV

Looking for a 32"-37" TV. No bigger, because the size of my room.

Went Costco, Wal-Mart and Sears...

I was impress by Sharp, Sony, and Toshiba...

Any other opinions?

I went on cnet.com as well... To look at the overall ratings...

Maybe if i purchase online, to find a better deal or coupons.

Budget below $800.

Nothing fancy, i usually play xbox sometimes and hardly watch tv. Since i go to the living room and watch my parents 40" SOny Bravia flat screen.

In some cases 42" tv's are cheaper than 37's. I can't imagine how small a

room would have to be for me to pay more for a 37 than a similar 42.

Maybe that was just the way the prices were when I was looking.

i like my 42 inch phillips. it was 900 i think. i got it at Target. they actually had a decent selection of 1080p lcd's. sam's club probably has the better prices, and Vizio is a decent budget tv, sold at walmart and sam's.

For the money you cant beat a Vizio, they have come a long way, have great picture and are not that expensive. 32 and 37 inch LCD were both in the top 5 in Consumer Reports and other reviews online, Just bought 32 for our second living room for less than 600

lg and sony are both great brands

edit: out of those i would get the lg because it has the best contrast ratio...this is the difference between the brightest white and the darkest black

i just pick up a 50 inch plasma LG 2 weeks ago .. everything looks great on it . your best choice out of all of them IMO

i got a 175 dollar cheapo 17 inch lcd off ebay 2 years ago. still works nice.
