Opinions on deadining

i most likely know the answer to this but here it is.

i am going to be deadening the front doors of my truck soon and they have a massive hole in them. i know the best thing to do would be to cut out a plate of metal or screen to screw in then lay the deadener on top. i am just feeling a little lazy and wonder if i could just lay it over the hole without the metal. maybe 2 layers.

If you create a barrier layer with MLV sandwiched on top of CCF you won't have to worry about covering that hole. I know from experience that will make a much bigger difference than what you're asking about.
