So i just came from advanced auto and got my electrical etc and i guess my alts about to take a sh1t. my alts not been charging worth a crap. i went, he checked batts where good but really in need of a charge & everything else tested good. He checked the alt and its only charging at 13.05 volts, & is regulated to charge @ 14.5 - 14.9 volts, also its internally regulated. so i take it that the alt is going bad. its not new or nothing i bought it used. Its a DC power HO 220a.

Im curious is there anyway to fix it or whatever? im really a noob when it comes to alts.

thanks for any help & suggestions,

Get it fixed at a reputable local alt shop/send it back to DC to repair

Also did they tell you that the regulator is ALL that was going bad? When I got my alt tested at oreilly's they told me the regulator and diodes were both shot.
That im not sure. They really didnt say that. I just know it was only charging at 13.06v. Idk anything about a alt so.... Yea

dc is expensive... just found out my lil 140a bad too... check around might be cheaper or around the same price new or throw some change with it and upgrade...
Ugh... Yea dc is kind of expensive. I may email them or something. Or get a external regulator for it. I may just buy a new alt tho idk. It will probly be a cheaper one tho. I would like to go the cheapest route possible tho lol

i agree, my rebuild [140a] they want $185, for a new 200a only $230

I would call DC and see about freshening it up and going bigger. And quit being a cheapskate when it comes to your electrical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

If you own a DMM you can test voltage yourself as I wouldn't trust anyone, even for something that simple.
