I have the new style Referance 12" subs, very impressed, i have them wired at 1 ohm receiving 1200rms, ported, tuned to 30 or so, they handle it well seeming as how they don't receive the full 1200rms ever anyways. Equivalent to a good sounding SX 15" IMO

I was just curious if the 7500's were worth the extra 150 bucks or not.

I've always wanted to try them but don't want to waste the money if they won't give me a better output.

I'm just looking for a nice SQL setup that has the ability to get loud when need be without frying my subs.

Oh, i bought these subs for $120 brand new, so i'm also trying to have the loudest budget system as well...

Thanks

i own a 7500 and am please with it. but, its higher FS does sorta limit is ability to get low, espicaly in a ported box. theres no doubt in my mind the 7500 will get louder, and still sound good, but might not have the SQ your looking for. give em a try, head down to your local MTX dealer and have em chuck one in your car and have a listen.

i'd love to if i had an mtx dealer around here. I doubt circuit city would let me throw one in my car and test it lol

well then they shouldnt sell car audio. u can listen to it all u like in there show room, but youll never know if it sounds good in your car. ask. go down ask questions and ask if u and a sales rep can have a listen in your car. if he said no, walk out and tell him that a car audio environement is totaly diffent from a home envirment. if a sale is worth anything to them, they will invest the 20 mins to install and hock up to your amp and listen to your music

I agree, i could definately ask...

on a side note, NICE box building! i envy it...

no need to envy it, any one can do it. ive only been building custome boxes for just under a year. all it takes is the right tools and time. im not in it to make money, just provide a quality product for my local audiophiles, who chose not to pay the $2-350 for a custome box! let us know how u make out with the circut city guys and what u think of the MTX sub.
