opinions for SQ

Im starting to come up with a layout for what I want to build into my 05 Ram QC. Ive been out of the Audio world for about 8 yrs and back then I was all about SPL.

What I am wanting is a very clean crisp sound that also has a fair amount of mid base from my components..

Locally I can get just about anything but I will more than likely Internet shop if I can save enough money.

I have been looking @ Diamond Audio D662's for my fronts and D652's for my rear doors. Im also looking online at the PPI 356/355cs's....no one local carries these. Opinions??? Other brands and makes I should consider?

For subs Id really like to do a custom fiberglass enclosure under my rear seat that houses 4 D3 8's but am leaning towards two D6 10's for simplicity and cost effectiveness. Have also looked into ID 10's and Boston G2's.

Again Im open to all opinions and yes I know what they are like.

Are you going sealed, or ported for the subs? If you are going sealed (smaller enclosure) I would recommend the Boston 10's. One half cft sealed, per driver, and sound like subs costing much more.

Also, what kind of amp/s will you be running. The power you intend to feed them will make a difference. Some comps can take 350W/side, while others won't handle half of that. AND, some comps won't have much output, UNTIL you send them 150W/side...or more.

Im definately going sealed. I prefer the SQ much more than the SPL.

I always lean towards running the same brand of Amps, speakers and subs. Not sure why but I guess Ive always just thought it looked nicer.

I will not underpower my system by any means. This is part of the research Im doing....trying to narrow it done and then figure out what will be required to properly feed the speakers and subs.

Boston makes some awesome sounding comps as well....hmmm. May have to go listenin today.

That deck looks like it came from the early 90's.

Sorry Id prefer to keep my factory deck over that thing, no offense meant.

Looks like we posted at the same time! Actually, the 7909 used a great D/A converter. It's sound is bettern than most decks out there....old, or not. AND, you will certainly get some serious loks from the "old school" crowd. Bells & whistles don't make a deck sound good.
