You sire, have inspired me to re-upholster my door skins this summer. This is how they sit now: (Stock speakers were 5.25's, and for some reason had a 4x6" cover laying flat, now I have 6.5s there). I will build an MDF ring for spacing and create a door skin with the correct size hole

i love them door handles. they are just sick.

well, i'll wait and see how yours turn out. building from scratch sounds like a lot of work and patience that i probably dont have lol.

I've had 5 job interviews. 1 at a VERY nice shop down here (Blvd. Customs) that I'm really hoping I can get into. Other 4 have been at circuit city for a sales job in home entertainment. Why 4? I dunno...

Been meaning to get the new handles (just the handhold) redone since I don't like where it meets the door. Needs a little flare, IMO. And need to cut, what I call a "change holder" into the armrest to double as a second handle. Meh...lazy update...

Got woken up by the cleaning crew and decided to do a little work before taking a nap...

-Got the speaker holes cut-out

-Trimmed up the handle recess so the door release cup fits behind it

-Trimmed up the perimiter of the panel so it fits better and the door will actually close, lol

-Added a through hole so I can bolt the handle assembly directly to the door for extra pulling strentgh

-Added 2 keyhole-slots near speaker hole for further attachment...

-And I STILL need to copy all this to another hardboard do to the driver side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Still left:

-Mounting speaker ring

-Glassing

-Covering

-Attaching top piece

-Make mount for crossover in kickpanel

-Glass kickpanel

-Build enclosure/amprack for back deck

-Install Headunit (when it gets here), MB Q Components, JBL Px300.4 and 2 TangBand 8" W8-740C subs...

-wire, bump, and try not to screw up...
