While my brother is out of town, I decided I'll upgrade the sound system in his car for him.

One of the stock speakers is blown (Rattles like a *****), so I'll be using a bunch of my spare installation products to upgrade it with 4 new speakers and an amp.

Since he already has a head unit, a Pioneer 7600MP, that's all set.

Next is the speakers. Just placed an order for (4) Pioneer Premier 6.5s from Sonic Electronix. Here is the link to those:

For an amplifier, I'll be using a Jensen A400HLX 4 channel. I've tested and used this amp in the past. It does rated power and a clean signal at that. (Put an Oscilloscope on it)

From previous installs I have:

8 gauge power wire.

Fuse holder

RCA's

Speaker Wire

Remote wire

Chalk a few more items up as free.

I have already started taking the car apart, but its night so I'll get pictures tomorrow.

Just gathering up a few supplies:

That's all for now. I'll update as I work on it.

Your brother sure is gonna be happy when he gets back, now maybe you can convince him to pick up a sub stage and have you install it for him lol.

I got the previous generation of that Jensen amp and they work great for simple builds, should make for a nice setup.

you will be surprised at the output of the pioneer speakers...awesome speakers for the price.

that Jensen amp won't do them any justice though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Don't worry, you'll learn in time.

The one main reason I am doing the install the way I am, is because there will be no change in usable space in the vehicle. The amp will be mounted underneath the parcel shelf.

Took the speakers out so I could measure the mounting holes. The pioneers should be a perfect fit.

It's hard to see from this angle, but there is just enough room to mount the amp behind the trunk lid supports (Cross bars)

I'm looking to buy a saturn for commuting. Tell me this doesn't look like the BEST location to IB a pair of Mag's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
