One JL Sub Or Two?

I drive a Civic Sedan and currently have a Fusion 300W 10" tube sub in the trunk. I'm not happy with the sub due to a lack of punch and clarity. I'm not one to go down the road rattling everyone's windshields and usually listen to music at a moderate level, however I do like the base to be pronounced, punchy and clear. I mostly listen to rock, with some rap.

All that said, I'm looking at JL 10w6 subs. I initially wanted two, but wonder what the difference would be if I went with only one?

If you like JL get JL. You can get plenty of other subs that are equal in sq but dont cost as much. I had my W6v2's for about 5 years and they ar still slammin. This is the longest I have ever had any subs.

you will definetly notice a difference from your sub to a w6 but like said before there is better subs out there for a better price

All depends on the box you install it in. You can make a turd sub sound pretty good in an optimally built box...... goes the other way too.

One for sure. They haven't finished developement on a vehicle capable of the dbs generated by a dual JL substage.

P.S. JL is overpriced and overrated. You can get the same quality for less.

Thanks for all of your responses and I'll certainly consider using other brand subs if not for cost alone. I'm still wondering, however, what would be the sound difference between 1 sub and two? Would I really notice the difference, not being a true car audiophile?

double the cone area it will be louder. and have the same qu as one. Its up to you. If you double the drivers you will need to double the power.
