One 15 In A Grand AM = 150.7 @ 40hz!!!!!!!!!

A whopping 150.7 @ 40hz, in a 4 door trunk car!!!

Mic setup for MECA, drivers door open.

Check it out, and a few other loud vids, here: http://www.thecaraudiobox.com/eventpicsandvids/

We also tested his hifonics colossus in the vid.. wired to 1 ohm, it was only putting out 1541 watts!!!

The sub handled burp after burp just fine, no signs of stress at all.

Let me know what you guys think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Here is a pic - I dont want to hear "wow its ugly!"... 1: Its loud enough to not matter, and 2: the customer didn't want carpet

EDIT: I should probably add that the ports are attached AFTER the box is in the trunk, for the guys that want to know if it would fit in their ride //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

once again..very nice numbers...whats the deal going on w/ the 15" boxes?..what kind of numbers is he getting with music?
We really didnt do alot of fiddling... stuff like hold the trunk/door sit on roof... move the seats around... all that... so I'm guessing as it stands it'll top off at a 151.5-151.7 on a good first burp/cold coil and what not. Now, with a stronger electrical system... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

That being said, it would undoubtedly be past a 150 playing music, depends on what song is played of course.. but it would be up there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif .

And... yea, it sounds awesome playing music!!! Crazy loud on music! You really cant beat low note SPL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Its cheaper and crappier.Madisound is cheaper for ports //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
wrong twice...

the wood I use works well, obviously.

This pops up every single thread.

Its cheaper and lighter, and it doesnt matter between MDF and this stuff. The first time I saw it was actually at a show... a competitor/shop owner was using it - and had already done the testing and such... and figured why would you pay more for MDF, when this stuff works better. When the local home depot picked it up, I started using it.

Frankly, what does it matter what I use.... if I used cardboard and it performed like the boxes do now, who the hell cares. This setup puts out a 150+ at a low note with 1500 watts, and your *****in about the wood... cmon now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

What was the box dimensions? I have a Grand Am and I can say that it isnt too hard to get loud in one. (With the back seats down you can practically aim the woofers at the dash. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif)

I saw this coming - lol

Its a 4 door trunk car... its NOT easy to get loud.

Its not a tweeter, it makes no difference if you face the woofers @ the dash, or anywhere really... most of the loudest setups will fire the woofers up or to the side.

Saying a trunk car is "easy" to get loud tells me you dont compete //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Im not bashing your wood, but exactly what is it? i work at a lumber yard, and to me, it looks like OSB (Oxidated Strand Board) , but its hard to tell in the pic.
I call it big particle particle board. Its labeled as P-board, but it doesnt look like the normal stuff. The normal stuff is pretty much a less dense MDF. The stuff I use is actually stiffer, while at the same time being more brittle. You can bend MDF, but you cant bend what I use. Outside of avoiding the flaming on here everytime someone sees the wood, there is just no reason for me to use MDF.

OSB, i thought it was oriented strand board?
