On And Off Switch For amp

my friend has a switch in his car were he can turn his amp off and on.... i was thinking if i hooked up 2 remote wirers on for sub amp 1 for 4 channel amp that i would be able to trun them off and on......... would this work has anybody tried it ....... or would it cause a power surge

i have a switch in my jeep. i ran the power wire through the switch and then my remote wire is like 2 inches long and it connects from the power on the amp to the turn on on the amp. so just if u can get a distribution block just do what i did with your power wire and then run the remote wire from the power to the turn on. if u do do this just make sure you have an high amp switch

just put a switch on the remote wire , not the power wire.

yea just have a kill switch on your remote wire.... that's what im doing on my sub amp...

you can buy those kill switch on radio shack for like $1.00..
