? on 03 Ram Avic-N2 installation

I just got an N2 that I'm installing in an 03 Ram 2500 diesel. I just wann make sure I've got all my bases covered before I start. I did a search and came up with a couple things...

VSS Wire-The diagram shows white/orange wire @ pin 27 of the PCM, but doesn't say what engine. I saw a post the said it was pin 11 on the PCM for the 04 diesel

Back up wire-This is just the wire to the back up lights right?

Parking brake wire-This can just be grounded right? Or hooked to a switch?

One more question. I'm probably going to be getting another N2 for my 93 dakota. I can't find any info on the vss wire for this truck. It's a 3.9v6 with the a500 auto *****

Thanks in advance

VSS wire should be upper right side of firewall on driver's side- pin 27 on C2 PCM.

Unless you are hooking up a backup camera, don't worry about the backup wire.

I'm 90% sure on the Avic N2 the parking brake can be grounded to get all of the Navi menu options, not totally sure if it needs an on/off/on trigger or just needs a constant negative. Let me see if I can find out.

VSS on the 93 Dakota is the white/orange on the ****** harness.

Thanks for the reply! Do you know what color the rams VSS is by chance? Is orange/white right? Just to double check that I have the right one. The operation manual says something about apply/release/appy parking break to watch tv & use nav. That just seems like a pain in the ***. Especially for the dakota, the ebrake pedal is a b****. I read somewhere about getting a message that says the ebrake wire is improperly connected if you just ground it, but they said that the message would go away after the system learns for a while. Thanks again. Oh, by the way I am adding a backup camera

Thanks a lot man. I'm not going to bypass the gyro for the ram since it's a 4 door, and his kids would be in the back. But I will in my dakota since the ext. cab is full of speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The N2 is goin to have to be hooked up to a switch in order to bypass hookin it up to ur parking break, a simple on off toggle switch will do the trick.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Your are wrong. That only works on the Alpine units.

The n2 uses a lot more technical driver safety with the GPS antenna. a few people have done a work around of adding a toggle switch inbetween the brain and the gps antenna.
