So just for the record as to why the OP is "ignorant"Why is Kicker such a better speaker, that would justify paying 3x more for it?

I would assume the kicker is built better quality. Also more mark ups for a larger company profit and advertising. The 12w7 is 4 times the cost of the Type R 12. The type R is louder.. But the w7's has other purposes. Price is a poor judge of speaker

Actually Pyle made a couple of "OK" drivers back years ago in the 90's that werent too shabby. I totally forget what they were called since ive not seen them in 15 years. They were a limited run that had kevlar cones even - back when that was still a novelty. I had a pair, which is why I know they werent bad (for that era of design).

Back in 91...I had a pair of 15in. pyle pounders that were the shit back then . I think those are what your talking about .

I have never owned a kicker sub because I think they sound like absolute shit, and I'm about as SQ as they come. However, L5s get incredibly loud for the money and I always recommend them to people on a budget who just want loud and are afraid of online and/or boutique brands. I liked my kicker CVR (which I actually an pulling out tomorrow or friday)

Def would reccomend it to anyone on a tight budget. It got very loud and you can get them for like 60 bucks each online.

that was when pyle was an independant american company. it was a good product. now sound around(pyramid) owns them. basically a pyramid product now.
