Alright, so recently I went through and replaced my whole '97 DeVille stereo because we had an old car stereo sitting around with:
-an old rockford fosgate enclosure with either 2x6" or 2x8" drivers
->powered by a USAmps150
-old JBL 5.25 door speakers with mid/low speakers
-set of cheap pyle tweeters that are going to be replaced with the old boston acoustic 701s
->powered by a Kenwood 625 amp (the JBLs/tweeters)
-Eclipse head unit (not very old, first one that could play mp3 cds)
Got everything installed...
-The Kenwood625 has no output - I am gonna deem it dead of old age I think.
-The rockford drivers blew ALL OF their foam within 3 hits
-Pyles still sound like pyles and hurt my ear drums at times.
My main concern here is the Amp to power the door speakers, and if you have any suggestions for new drivers for the rockford enclosure it'd help (I believe they are eight inchers but they almost felt like 6 so gonna check on that tonight).
Trying to keep cost pretty low - Under 250 for the amp I'd say. I have no idea what brands make decent amps anymore.
As a note, when I say old, its ballpark 20 years.
