it looked like a V4 to me...two spark plugs on each side....i know it has the power of a slug...like an old vw beetle .....it was kicking 4000rpm at 70mph....

this one is snail slow...I'm gonna give it a basic tune up and see if I can't help it some...I am not crazy about the exhaust muffler...I may add a Camaro muffler like I have on my Wrangler and dual it out.....which is basically a single muffler with one inlet and two outlets....

You're not gonna get much more out of it bro. I'm assuming that's an early one, like a 78-80? Those motors had 67 HP! Pretty gutless.

You gots an H4 motor. Horizontally opposed, flat four, boxer, H4 is what those are. Not a V4.

i don't know much about motors...as long as it runs i'm happy...its a 1600 the smallest one....i hope to add some early vw wheel adapters or mod mine to 6 lug...and find a 3" lift for it....then find some back muddy roads to play....I want to rig a receiver on each end and get a portable winch kit in case I get stuck....so I can get it out.....

Yup, it's an EA71 1.6L. 67 HP baby! Just drop a 3.0 STI in there and call it a day. Heck, even a 2.5 would be more grunt and go.
