I had all these repaired by JR. They come back with new plugs, terminals and screws. Im not crapping on the dude's thread here, but I wouldnt send him any OS SS amps, broken or not.

I dont recall them ever costing more then $100 w/ shipping for all of that, mostly $60-$80, but that was a few years ago. Seems he is still in business.

hmm, i might jump in on this luvin....... got a 1000sx board? mine got board damage at the caps. may need a small pile of the plastic terminal shrouds. about 50% of the ones i get are chewed up by a 3/16" screw-driver, or worse. i really need a rear cover for one of my 500sx's..... maybe that was an s.... should be the same. mostly interested in doing some trading...... would like to see your stash first....... see if it's any bigger than mine, lol..... as for trade, i have a USA.364, probably the d200II, and who knows what else.... we'll see.

..... while i got your ear? what was the deal with the under-built power sections? they just don't handle any abuse. i'm beefing all mine up, when i get the chance.

Hey rickmandick,

Jaime at JR used to work for me. He now works ar inyel. I actually designed all the old Soundstream amps and my company manufactured them. All amplifier sections were designed to handle more current than the power supply could deliver. Thats why they could drive such low impedances. Anyway, I wish i had the amps you have. i had a bunch ofthose same amps in my car but somebody stoled them. I am now here to answer any questions, supply info, schematics and repair old soundstream amps. I only replace connectors if they are so damaged that they are unusable. If you ever need anything I'm here.

Hey erod, Did I give you a quote to repair an amp? what name was on the quote? if so, what model was it and what was wrong with it and how much was the quote? it might have been a little high because of the return freight.

hey rickmandrick, I'm with you on the hearing thing. Not only did I have a mad car audio system, 2-15" subs with a real 1000 watts, 2-10" midbass, 4-5" mids, 4 tweets and a middle channel., but i am was a musician in the 60's, 70's and 80's. I have permanant ringing in my ears and my high end is gone. I follow after peter Townsend from the who. he is completely def in one ear. oh yeah, JR is not in business anymore. i bought most of his inventory. sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but my computer took a dump about 3 days ago. Right now I'm using an old laptop running iWndows Vista, uuuuh.

het SACROMANIAC916, yeah I can frix those too, I also designed them. I'm gussing your here in Sacramento. I live in Orangevale. Tell me what model it is and what's wrong with it and i can give you a quote. you know the circuitry in the USA's is identical to what's in the Reference series just witha smaller power supply and more current limiting so it would only drive 4 and 2 ohms.

erod, Ilove fords, i was a mechanic and used to repair alot of cars but my facories were always fords. I have an 89 SHO, Soundstream show car done for the CES show years ago. Whats wrong with yours, LOL. let me know what model you have and i'll give you a quote.

I have had several SStream amps over the years,.I picked up a USA 204 with box and specs, yet Im not getting any sound out of that joker.Havent opened it up as of yet.May consider a repair on it.Pm me a price for shipping both ways from my area,and the rest will be spoken about of course.I used to repair my own amps,but Ive now lost patience over the years.I do have an SA USA 80 sitting,had sever USA series 100/200,Agena amp on ebay is my old amp..Guys asking 3 timeswhat I sold it for..LOL..Lil Wonders,700s,500,300,Granite series 60.2, 120.4,Granite series components,Rubicons old school amps.Clean power.Excellent for SQ peoples
