hey guys my friend wants to buy a system. he has a 02 civic with a dual brand head unit (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif dual i know, will be upgraded in the future hopefully). hes found a good deal on some old school solobarics. all the info he has is: Kicker- MODEL # S12D

i want to pick a good amp for him so he doesnt overpower them. he said hed like an old school kicker amp or a jl amp but other opinions are welcome.

remember it will be 2 12's. i dunno the ohms or number of voice coils as the add doesnt say. although im hopoing they only had one type of model back then. thanks guys.

i know they had the zr series , zr360 were some nice lookin amps , i'm sure they preform good as well

They were available in single 2,4, and 8 ohm coils I believe. A good 300-800 watts total wil do them nicely.

yup, I had some of them as well, and they were great. You dont need much space at all or power to get them going good

You've got some messed up info there. The S10D requires a .66 cf box and 450 watts while the S12D requires a .88 cf box and 600 watts.

All the info I have on the S12D's are: 2,4,or 8 ohm impedance, 600 wrms, sens. 87.7 dB, freq resp. 20-100 Hz, mounting depth 5 5/8", mounting hole dia 11 1/8", recommended sealed box .88 cf. For two of those, depening on what ohm they are, look for a Kicker ZR1000 or a XS100 or look at the newer line like the KX1200.1 and SX1250.1

You've got some messed up info there. The S10D requires a .66 cf box and 450 watts while the S12D requires a .88 cf box and 600 watts.

The S12d will handle up to 425 watts in .88 cubic feet enclosure; if more power (up to 600 watts) is available, the box size should be reduced to .66 cubic feet.
