Why thank you. VLX pwns. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifWell, to sum up my feelings, good quality is good quality whether it is new or old. If you like what you are using go ahead and use it obviously.
I haven't used one, but seriously, if it is a quality amp it should stand the test of time, and I definitely expect a number of today's amps to be kicking in 10+ years too, they just don't have the time behind them or the nostalgia factor that the older stuff has.Why thank you. I disagree, they can make new amps that are just as good as old ones in China and Korea. Korea makes some of the best amps even. There is a difference in old school (US Made) and new school (korean, chinese, taiwan made) products. There is no comparison. Look at my signature ZED only).
Indeed. Not all amps are perfect but, I've beat on some old school amps like my dad's M50. I can't beat up on any of the newer amps around the same size without risking them blowing up. Quality matters however the low end back in the day was better than the low end stuff out now.I haven't used one, but seriously, if it is a quality amp it should stand the test of time, and I definitely expect a number of today's amps to be kicking in 10+ years too, they just don't have the time behind them or the nostalgia factor that the older stuff has.
That I don't doubt since now everyone and anyone can get ahold of a cheap buildhouse and have them build the cheapest amps ever built, but if they are built quality they can compete with old stuff. I mean, people have put .15 ohm loads on Sundown and RD amps and have had them take it, that is just purely impressive.Indeed. Um ok? Class D which wasn't used a lot back then if at all. .15 ohm burp? Big deal, it's not continuous. How about the guy that welded with a VLX-400 at CES? Name another Class A/B that can pump out 2400 watts @ 1 ohm at 12 volts (rated power mind you). There aren't many. USA 800 is the only amp that I can think off the top of my head. That I don't doubt since now everyone and anyone can get ahold of a cheap buildhouse and have them build the cheapest amps ever built, but if they are built quality they can compete with old stuff. Why are you getting all pissy? I believe you that the VLX is a beast, and no, Class A/B generally doesn't go that high in power and Class D was new then. And I am not going to try and weld with any amp.Um ok? Class D which wasn't used a lot back then if at all. .15 ohm burp? Big deal, it's not continuous.
