Old School amps > New shit?

Yes amps could fail (usually because the owner is an idiot) but the headroom is what amps a **** good amp be able to preform to it's limit. It's same reason people drive big bad *** cars with bad *** big blocks little grandpa's. It bugs me but they know that if they ever need the power, they have it handled.
Well, yea, but the better Class D amps out there today still have power in reserve for when it is needed for dynamic headroom. And I agree, the biggest factor in amps failing from any era is user idiocy.

Im not gonna get started, I already said my part...

I love old school no matter what, IMO U can never compare Class A/B power to Class D power. A/B pwns, but thats my opinion and thats it...

I do use new stuff, so I dont hate on it... I just prefer old school power...

Indeed but I'm not talking about class D. There are many many many good Class D amps. But few comparable Class A/B amps to a lot of the old school amps.

Class D pwns A/B in efficiency and power but not in full range or THD (SQ).

Why do you need class A/B, for use on a sub stage Class D is perfectly fine, and actually provides advantages over Class A/B because of it's efficiency and smaller size. For anything above 100Hz reproduction Class A/B is definitely desired however.

But why would anything below 100hz not be desirable? Daily, no need. Pure SQ, you better believe I'd run that VLX on a pair of SI mags lol.

Exactly. But studies have shown that people can not detect distortion amounts even higher than those from a Class D amplifier in the low frequency range.
