Old Hard Drive Data

I barely got my new system running with a new hard drive and I was planning on copying my old data from my old hard drive. But when I try to go into the user folder "Jose" - which is where everything was at - it will say "Access Denied. Folder is unaccessible" I also tried to boot up from the old hard drive ONLY and it would not boot up. It would go to the "System did not start up properly last time" screen and ask for which start up. Safe Mode or Normal Mode does not boot up at all. Does anyone know how to get the data from my old drive?

yea i know. I was hoping there was another way to copy the data. Maybe from C prompt. Its been so long since I used it I cant remember all the commands. But I hope I didnt lose all my stuff. Most of my MP3s are on my ipod though. I could copy them from there to my pc. But my pics, videos and school documents.....
