Ive been using my Alpine Cda-9827 for what seems 3 yrs and have loved it.

Would I gain any performance switching to a newer unit such as the IXA's , 9885 or 9886?

I don't believe I would run active...Setup is in the sig!

unless you need additional features offered a new HU, I don't see any need for a new one.

KEEP THE 9827!!! I had one for 3 years and loved it until it got stolen. Replaced it with a CDA-9884 and then a 9886 and neither have given me the satisfaction that my 9827 had given me. I miss my 9827. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
