I have a 91 Toyota Cressida, I just got an amp(Kenwood) and 2 10's w/box from a buddy. I just installed it. Ran 12V and P.Con from the Battery threw fire wall to dash, spliced into P.con and installed switch into dash, from dash to trunk to amp. Amp grounded to trunk. Amp to box etc.... I have power.
Now i have external Sirius Replay Radio. My car deck is stock and is a 91 so there are no RCA jacks into the back im too poor to get a converter for it so my Sirius Replay has an Audio out on it. I got a regular 1 prong i guess its called and put it into the audio out kinda like a head phone jack. Already had a converter to change it to RCA then ran my RCA cables to the trunk.
Now i get Bass but its not very load the Amp is pretty good i guess im not sure the amps but he told me be careful with it cause i could blow those 10's out with it. Well its turned all most all the way up and its not very loud. I found out that my Audio output on my Sirius radio is 2V (Normal) and 2.8V (MAX) Peak-to-Peak. So im guess im not getting enough power out of my Audio out... Anyone know of something that can boost the power?
I have noticed if i turned my car volume all the way down, Muted. That the subs get louder. Not very much but they do. Cause the in car stock speakers are running off the radio thats getting its feed from Sirius wireless transmission, I'm guessing using up more power that way. Anyone understand so far?
