I got my new alt from iraggi yesterday. Its 200/120 at idle.I put it in and it worked great for about 30 minutes. Now my battery light comes on when start my car.Checked the voltage on my batt and it was fine.Put my old alt on and and it charged right up.E-mailed dom but will get reply tomorrow. Its just sucks beacuse I wanted it to work.

i'd take it to the nearest auto parts store with an alternator tester, some vehicles can't "handle" the excessive amp's that are being given off by the alternator, does it have a built in regulator?

Devices PULL amps, they don't get them pushed to them. Any vehicle can 'handle' a high amperage alternator. You don't have problems until you start jacking voltage, which is pushed from the alternator.

Put a DVM on your alternator's output pole and see what voltage it's putting out at idle. My bet is that it's only provided ~12v or something like that, if your other alternator works OK. I've heard about some high output alternators needing replacement belts to spin up to the correct RPM but have no idea if that applies to yours.
