Old amp and subs

Does anybody know how i can check if there is power on the amp and if the subs work without hooking up in my car

Subs to home stereo, just to make sure. Amp, just jump the remote to the power, ground it and test it on a battery. That will only test for power though, no sound...

put a multi-meter on the coils of the subs to see if the coils are still good. the only way i can tell you to check a amp is to eather hook it up in the car, or take it to a shop and have it bench test it.
