Ok to trim 4 gauge wire to fit 8 gauge fuse holder

If he sold it to you stating it was for 4 gauge, get him to refund the money. Seems pretty simple to me.
Na the guy that sold it to be (Badd @ss Chevy) is a great guy. He sold me a bunch of other stuff too and basically threw the fuse holder in for free.

As others have said make sure it does not have the reducer in there. Our FH-44 holder comes with a reducer from 4 to 8. Its just a little insert that falls out when you completely unscrew the allen screw. We get calls about that every so often, folks not realizing what the peice is for.

Nope there is none in there

I am going to order one from Knukonceptz I already ordered my wire power line from there, great site //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I also need a distro block too I guess (the one I have is like 8 to 10)

I don't understand why people trim down wire... If you're going to drop the money on heavier gauge power wire, only to skimp on the fuse holder, or ring terminal, or battery post, what's the point? It's not like a 2 gauge fuse holder or 4 gauge fuse holder costs an arm and a leg more than the 8 gauge. By trimming the wire to fit, you're essentially doing the electrical equivalent of taking a giant fire hose, then cutting out a 1 foot section in the middle, and replacing it with a piece of garden hose. The end result is that the water coming out the other end is only going to be as much as the weakest link, that being the garden hose, will allow through. Spend the extra few bucks and do it the right way...
Very interesting read.

I know my fuse holder is a foot long:D

It wasn't meant to be taken literally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'm sure your power wire isn't 4" in diameter or 100' long either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
